Abstract

Article purpose is classification of rail spikes (fastening) and the analysis of their constructions. The offered classification is based as on the classical approach to a problem of the top structure of a railway, and on the analysis of the corresponding patent documentation of the various countries of the world. Classification of rail spikes is resulted, and also the analysis of new designs of the spikes differing to destination, a form of a rod cross section , the rod form in the longitudinal direction, a form of the pointed end of the rod, the rod uniformity degree, extent of assembly, extent of deformation of elements of the spike at its clogging in a sleeper, existence of means for increase of coupling of a spike with the sleeper, existence of means for latching of the spike, existence of additional functions and so on is made. Possibilities of use of the offered designs of rail spikes are considered. Article materials can be useful to scientific and pedagogical and pedagogical workers, designers, inventors, post-graduate students and students.
